Student Athlete Testimonials

If you're considering Chesapeake College, you'll want to find out what our current student athletes think of the college and our intercollegiate athletic programs. Here are a few student athletes who wanted to share their experiences with you.

Brad Brainer “I wanted to come to Chesapeake because of Coach Szymanski. I could tell the baseball program was going somewhere, and I liked the atmosphere here.”

Jordan Glessner “I took all my General Education classes here where it was cheaper and more personal, and all of my classes transferred to Salisbury. The best part about my freshman year was getting to know so many people I had played against in high school and seeing how we could all be pulled together into one team. It was also exciting to see how we could go from a rebuilding year in softball my freshman year to the JuCo World Series in my sophomore season. That was a great experience.”

Patrick Hambleton “I'm used to playing at a smaller school that's known as the underdog so I knew what to expect. We accomplished so much this past season. The summary of the season was when we beat Montgomery – they're a huge name in soccer and such an excellent program. Chesapeake was a great experience for me. As happy as I was to get a degree, I was sad to leave. Everyone, from the people in the café to the library to the faculty – I wasn't just a student, I was a friend. Coach Szymanski is such a mentor for me – I call him now just for advice on life. Chesapeake had a hometown feeling for me, which is what I was used to at St. Michaels.”
