Skipjacks Upend Seahawks Twice

BEL AIR - Despite a location change to a neutral site less than 24 hours prior, Cecil baseball could not defeat Chesapeake on either end of a doubleheader with the Skipjacks.

Cecil drops to 3-7 (0-2 Region 20) on the season with the two defeats.

Game One - Chesapeake 7, Cecil 2 - Box Score

The Seahawks stranded a season high 20 runners on base, leading to a loss in game one.

Couper Stala did his part at the dish, finishing 2-for-3 with a double. Ben Campbell also doubled. Justin Weaver scored both of Cecil's runs via sacrifice flyouts.

Hunter Sipel (2-1) and Colin Brosh fought hard on the mound could not keep Chesapeake off the board. Both finished with one strikeout each. 

Game Two - Chesapeake 7, Cecil 4 - Box Score

The Seahawks fell 7-4 to Chesapeake, leaving another 19 runners on base in game two.

Both teams scored four runs in the second inning, including a three-RBI double from Couper Stala. Cecil gave four right back to the Skipjacks in the bottom of the frame.

While the Seahawks continued to leave innings empty-handed, Chesapeake punched through a trio of runs in the sixth. The Skipjacks then held Cecil off the board to earn the sweep.
