The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats (10-5) hosted two games over the weekend, non conference vs. Chesapeake College Skipjacks (5-8) on Saturday & conference vs. Southwest Virginia Community College Eagles (7-6) on Sunday.
The Bobcats entered this matchup looking to extend their win streak to a season high of four in a row, but the Skipjacks had other plans in mind for the day. This was one of the few games this season where the Bobcats weren't able to take the lead in the second half after a strong shooting performance by the Skipjacks would create an early 14pt lead in which they would carry into halftime.
There would be a late run from the Bobcats but it would not be enough to mount a full comeback and they would suffer only their 2nd loss of the season at home (77-84) in the non conference matchup.
The Bobcats were led by #1 Kahlil Oden with 22pts, 5reb, #0 Josiah Dow 14pts, 7reb, & #13 Gamar Powers 12pts, 6reb, 2blk (team-high)
Having lost to this team on the road earlier in the year and looking to bounce back from their loss in the prior day, the Bobcats would start things differently and slowly extend a lead of 8pts heading into the half. That lead would grow to as large as 14 before a storming run by the Eagles would erase all but 2pts and the Bobcats would hold on to win.
The Bobcats were led by #0 Josiah Dow 28pts, 11reb (4th Double-Double), #1 Kahlil Oden 23pts, 5ast, & #13 Gamar Powers 14pts, 5reb
The Bobcats next will travel on the road for their next two conference matchups at Cleveland Community College, Saturday (1/13) at 4pm & Monday (1/15) at Guilford Technical Community College at 4pm.
