Lions Lose First Conference Game

Lions Lose First Conference Game

The Lions came up short losing to the Chesapeake College Skipjacks 90-67 in their first conference game of the season. There were six players in double digits for the Skipjacks and as a team they shot an insane 49% from the floor and 55% from three. Wish I could say the same for the Lions.

The Lions started out slow and found themselves down early 21-10. They hung in there and stopped the bleeding and kept the margin around eleven as the score would now be 31-19 about half way through the first half. The Lions would then go on a 13-0 run, take the lead 32-31 and force the Skipjacks to call a timeout with 4:41 left in the half. The problem for the Lions would be that in those last five minutes they were outscored 16-2. We went into the locker room with a score of 47-34 Skipjacks lead at halftime.

The second half did not have that same time of comeback the first half had. There were periods where the Lions stayed even with Skipjacks but never enough to mount a comeback.
