Cardinals Swept by Chesapeake

The Cardinals returned back to the field to play game two of their doubleheader versus Chesapeake College. In this game, they would fall once again for a second time and be forced to end early by mercy rule.

Unlike in game one, the Cardinals were unable to contain Chesapeake from scoring runs and bring any significant batting momentum for themselves. Entering the second inning, the Cardinals found themselves trailing 0 – 5 and would not stack up any runs of their own until the top of the fourth inning. Freshman second baseman, Madelyn Golt (George Washington Carver) would have one of two hits the Cardinals managed and her seventh RBI of the season. Sophomore outfielder, Abigail Heagy (Eastern Tech) would earn the other team's hit and put a run up on the scoreboard.

Unfortunately, the Cardinals were unable to prevent Chesapeake from building upon their lead and would fall in back-to-back games. This surely isn't the most ideal way of closing out the month of March, yet the team is confident they can enter the new month and dominate, as they continue to address and fix their scoring issues.
