Cabbagestalk Goes Off for 37 Points in Loss

On February 3, the CCBC Catonsville women's basketball team took on Chesapeake College, losing 100-75.

After a slow start, the Cardinals would try and fight their way back into the game; however, the Cardinals would not be able to comeback, losing their 8th game on the season.

The Cardinals would have a rough first quarter, as Chesapeake's offense would get in their rhythm quickly, taking a 34-11 lead in the first quarter.

The Cardinal offense would start to get their feet under them, led by Kayla Cabbagestalk (Chesapeake High School) who scored 11 points in the second quarter. The Cardinals would still struggle on defense, as the Cardinals would go into the half down 58-33.

In the third quarter, jump shots from Kayla Cabbagestalk and Amaree McKnight (National Christian Academy) would see the Cardinals get off to a much better offensive start. Despite the much better offensive performance in the third, the Cardinals would still find themselves down 20 points going into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter would be much of the same as the prior quarters. Kayla Cabbagestalk would add another nine points to her total. Ah'niya Tillery (Coppin Academy) also scored ten points in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals offense would not be enough to overcome the early deficit, losing to Chesapeake College 100-75.
