Game 1:
The Red Barons couldn't keep up with the Skipjacks as Corning fell 13-6 in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday 03/10 at Salisbury University.
The Red Barons got off to an early lead in the top of the first when Anothony Esposito scored on a passed ball. The Skipjacks answered in the bottom of the first by taking a 2-1 lead. Corning would then score three in the second when Haden Abbott singled, scoring two runs and Anthony Esposito doubled, scoring one run. The Skipjacks would then tie the game in the bottom of the second with a single by Kaleb Elliot. In the top of the third the Red Barons would score two runs to take a 6- 4 lead. The Skipjacks did not look back, scoring three in the fourth, two in the fifth and four in the bottom of the sixth to win the game 13- 6.
Alex Chrisman started for the Red Barons allowing six hits and four earned runs in three and one third innings. Evan Cuba earned the loss for Corning allowing three runs in one and two thirds innings.
Luke Dubben, Zackery Nelson, and Anthony Esposito each collected two hits for the Red Barons. Haden Abbot led Corning with two RBI's by going 1 for 3 on the day.
Game 2:
Chesapeake College defeated Corning 10- 0 in the second game of a doubled header on Sunday 03/10 at Salisbury University.
Chesapeake College would strike first with a Jaxson Monroney single in the bottom of the second. Chesapeake would go on to add two more runs in the third inning to make it 3- 0. Cheseapeake would add seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to complete the game.
The Red Barons struggled at the plate but Luke Dubben, Zackery Nelson, and Alex Chrisman each had a hit in the game.
Luke Dubben excelled on the mound throwing five innings surrendering five hits and three runs all unearned.
Corning Community College is scheduled to play a one nine next Sunday 03/17 against Bryant and Stratton Syracuse starting at 1:00pm
