Navy JV Takes Down The SkipJacks

Chesapeake College (5-13) went down to the Midshipman JV on Monday night in a 88-63 ballgame. The Skipjacks fought hard early ad played with intensity to the tune of a 38-33 halftime deficit. That intensity and git showed in the first half was lost though in the second as Navy (JV) took over the game offensively and outscored the Peake 53 to 30 in the second half to suffer another tough loss.

The Skipjacks this year have showed heart and determination early but seem to let games slip away In the second half. This has happened time and time again to a good team. In spirts Chesapeake looks like on of the best teams in the state. Then there are also spirts that it seems the Skipjacks are uninterested in playing at all. This is why Coach Mitchell and the coaching staff have been preaching to their players they need to finish. The intensity has to stay high for all 40 minutes to compete at this level and without that there are going to be some tough loses to swallow.

The good news for the Skipjacks is Anthony Tate Jr showed up and scored 27 points to go along with his 4 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Jordan Alston also contributed 23 points and 7 rebounds.

Up next for the Skipjacks is a home game Wednesday the 24th against the College of Southern Maryland.
