Skipjacks Make Use of Winning Momentum

WYE MILLS, MD - Chesapeake men's basketball took the court at 5 PM, November 11th to take on St. Mary's for a competitive event. In the end, the Skipjacks managed to come out on top with a final result of 71-113.

Chesapeake came into the game with the positive momentum earned from their previous win on their home court the Tuesday prior against St. Mary's. Going into halftime, the Skipjacks had successfully continued to press offensively, ultimately working to keep control of their lead. At halftime, the score stood in Chesapeake's favor at 25-64.

The following half was no different for the home team, now making sure to prioritize their other need to hold a steady defense, in order to maintain their solid standing on the scoreboard. As the clock continued to wind down, the Skipjacks did not break in their concentration and their obvious will to compete. A couple of highlighted team statistics to make note of for Chesapeake were their combined 35 rebounds earned, as well as a competitive total of 24 assists. In combination, these two team statistics give a rather accurate insight as to what kind of team these boys continue to uphold a reputation of embodying, and just how willing they are to communicate on and off the court in order to reach their shared goals set for the conference season still ahead.

In result, it became extremely evident that Chesapeake's dedicated efforts as a whole were most definitely represented in the final result of yet another win in the books within the walls of their home court of Skipjack Arena. The Skipjack's never once lost hold of their strong morale to keep fighting until the final buzzer rang, no matter what.

Chesapeake is looking forward to continuing their positive streak of momentum in their next game this coming Monday, November 15th, in which they will take on Washington JV at a later game time of 7:30 PM.
