Things Heat Up in Chesapeake College's Men's Soccer Season Opener

This afternoon at 4:00p.m., the Chesapeake College Men's soccer team officially started off their season facing a highly seeded, Montgomery College, with a final score of 8-1.

From the very start of the first half, the Skipjacks played a hard fought battle, hanging on strong with their well-positioned opponent. With quite a high heat index this afternoon, the teams were issued water breaks at the halfway point of both 45 minute halves. But even despite the heat, the team showed up to bring the heat during their first presence back on the field!

At the start of the second half, Chesapeake was ready to finish out the fight by leaving everything they could out on the field, despite the intense heat. Nearing the midpoint of the half, the men managed to get a shot on goal that struck the back of the net to get them on the board!

At the sound of the final buzzer, despite the score, the team and coaching staff were ultimately proud of their efforts. The team now feels more confident and prepared going into the rest of the season after getting back into the feel of the game.

The Chesapeake College Men's soccer team is scheduled to face their second opponent of the season, CCBC Essex, on Tuesday, August 31st at 4pm - once again on the Skipjack's home turf.
