Maryland JUCO Announces Seeding for Final Conference Basketball Tournaments

 

Hagerstown, Md. (February 12, 2019) – The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) today announced the seeding for the 2019 Men’s and Women’s Conference Basketball Tournaments, which run Thursday, February 14 through Sunday, February 17, hosted by Hagerstown Community College. Baltimore City Community College (men) and Harford Community College (women) are the two number one seeds.

The women’s bracket will begin play on Thursday, as No. 3 Chesapeake College takes on No. 6 Montgomery College at noon, followed by No. 2 Baltimore City against No. 7 Hagerstown at 2 p.m.

Day one of the tournament continues with No. 4 Frederick Community College versus No. 5 CCBC Catonsville at 4 p.m. and concludes with No. 1 Harford against No. 8 College of Southern Maryland at 6 p.m.

The men tipoff on Friday with No. 3 Harford meeting No. 6 Garrett College at noon. No. 2 Allegany College of Maryland battles No. 7 Frederick at 2 p.m., while No. 4 Prince George’s Community College takes on Cecil College at 4 p.m. Top seeded Baltimore City ends the day with a 6 p.m. tip against No. 8 Southern Maryland.

All games times are subject to change.

The Maryland Juco Tournament began in 1974. Prior to that year, the conference was known as the Tri-State Athletic Conference, which ran from 1958 until 1973. Hagerstown won the first conference tournament in 1958.

Location, Sports Information, Media

Hagerstown C.C. is located at 11400 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown, MD 21742. All fans, participants and media members are asked to use the front entrance of the Athletic Recreation and Community Center (ARCC) building, as there is ample parking for all. Tickets are just $8.00.

Tournament games will be live streamed and live stats will be available, both of which can be found on the conference website at www.mdjuco.org. Tournament programs and sophomore programs (stats, highlights, etc.) will be available for purchase at Hagerstown.
