Skipjacks Find Success Over Dragons

WYE MILLS, MD - The lady Skipjacks were out to compete Wednesday night as they welcomed the Howard Dragons into Skipjack Arena. In the end, Chesapeake earned the win with a final score of 65-57.

#23 Jayla Irvin was an influential player for Chesapeake, earning an exceptional 19 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals to top it all off. Yet another offensive standout on the court was #15 Taiylor Bussey who solidified 17 points and 5 assists in the books. #10 Deliayh Mohamed made her way into double digits on the scoreboard with an impactful 14 points of her own to contribute to the win. 

At the half, Chesapeake had predominantly led the charge on the court and was sitting 5-points ahead of the Dragons at 33-38. The Skipjacks would have to finish the job and maintain the momentum they'd established throughout the first half of the night. 

By the end of the event, Chesapeake had successfully managed to lengthened their lead to an official 8-point difference, earning themselves the win after a remarkable 4 quarters. 

The women's team will be back in Wye Mills, MD for another night of basketball this coming Friday, when they'll welcome the College of Southern MD into their arena for a tip off time of 5 PM.
