
ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team swept visiting Chesapeake and Cecil in a tri-match at Jenkins Gym Saturday. The Riverhawks defeated the Skipjacks, 3-0, in the day's first match, and topped the Seahawks, 3-0, in the final match of the day.
AACC defeated Chesapeake by scores of 25-13, 25-17, and 25-19. The Riverhawks combined for 10 aces in the match, led by four from Katy Raynor, who recorded three in a row late in the third set.
The front row had a monster first match, led by six solo blocks and a pair of block assists from Emma Quandt, who also recorded 13 kills in the match.
The Riverhawks bested Cecil by scores of 25-12, 27-25, and 25-14. The second set ended on back-to-back points during Megan Helinski's service.
AACC keeps its home stretch going Tuesday when they host Montgomery College at 6 pm. The Riverhawks will look for their fourth win in a row, and their third-straight against Division II opponents.
