The Cardinals and Skipjacks split one game a piece in doubleheader

Game 1: Skipjacks 5 (26-7, 20-4), Cardinals 6 (19-14, 16-6). WP – Conner Peters (1-3), LP – Devin McClendon (2-3).

 

  • In the first inning, the Skipjacks put one on the board from a SAC fly to start the game off. The Cardinals in the bottom half of the inning scored three runs from two singles and a wild pitch. Cardinals 3-1
  • In the second inning, the Skipjacks took the lead by scoring three more runs on two singles and a balk. Skipjacks 4-3
  • The Cardinals were the last team to score and put up two runs in the sixth inning from a single and an error. Cardinals 6-4

 

 

Game 2: Skipjacks 17 (27-7, 21-4), Cardinals 1 (19-15, 16-7). WP – Daniel Leo (7-0), LP – Trevor Smoot (1-2).

 

  • In the first inning, the Skipjacks scored three runs from two singles. Skipjacks 3-0
  • In the third inning, the Skipjacks scored on a SAC fly and the Cardinals had an RBI single in the bottom half. Skipjacks 4-1
  • In the fourth inning, the Skipjacks scored thirteen runs. Those runs came from five singles, two doubles, one hit by pitch, one wild pitch, one error and one fielder's choice. Skipjacks 17-1
