Catonsville, MD – It was a tough weekend for the Cardinals baseball team as they lose both games of the doubleheader against Chesapeake College. Game 1 was close resulting in a final score of 8-5, while game 2 was not as the score was 14-4.

Game 1

Game 1 was close. The Cardinals were down 3-1 going into the bottom of the 4th inning, where the Cardinals scored 4 to take the lead 5-3. This lead did not last long as Chesapeake College responded with 4 runs of their own in the top of the 5th.The Cardinals would not take back the lead and would end up losing the game 8-5.

Game 2

The Cardinals never got it going in game 2, only tallying 4 hits and scoring 4 runs while striking out 10 times. Chesapeake College was up 7-1 after the 4th inning, and any hope for a comeback was lost after a 6 run sixth inning by Chesapeake College. The Cardinals drop this game 14-4 after 2 costly big innings.

Looking Ahead

The Cardinals had 6 errors on the day with 3 in each game, as well as 14 runners left on base for the day. Costly mistakes lead to the unfortunate 2 loss day. The Cardinals move to 9-8 on the year and look to bounce back after a tough weekend this Tuesday against Anne Arundel Community College.
