Coach Yetter hits 100 win milestone with sweep of Chesapeake

Coach Jenna Yetter reached the 100 win milestone as Hagerstown Community College's Head Softball Coach on Thursday, following the Hawks 4-3 first game victory over Chesapeake College at home.  In her fourth year of coaching and following yesterday's doubleheader sweep of the Skipjacks, Yetter has an overall record of 101- 58, and Maryland JUCO conference record of 51 - 7.  When asked about her accomplishment Yetter said, "I am proud of this team, along with past teams, in their dedication to the Hawks Softball program.  That's what makes my job easier."

Jordyn Brown pitched 6.1 innings in the first game, allowing 4 earned runs off of 10 hits with 4 strike outs and 2 walks.  Adrianna Beeler closed out the game in relief to get the save, facing the final two batters with one strikeout.  Beeler lead the Hawks offense going 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs, and hitting a home run. Ashley Palmer went 1 for 2 with 1 RBI and a walk.

The Hawks offense ignited for the game two 9-1 win with Beeler and Palmer each hitting a home run.  Amber Kent went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs, Madison Bailey 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Palmer 2 for 3 with an RBI in the game.  Beeler pitched 6 innings allowing 1 earned run off of 8 hits and striking out 3, and with this victory, Hagerstown won the Maryland JUCO conference title.

Hagerstown travels to Butler County Community College (BC3), in Butler, PA on Sunday, May 1st, for an out of conference doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
