WYE MILLS, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team closed out a 3-1 win over host Chesapeake with a 10-0 run Saturday. Earlier in the day, AACC fell to Cecil, 3-0, at the tri-match hosted by the Skipjacks.
Sabrina Sheppard led AACC on the day averaging 6.17 kills per set and a total of four blocks (two solo, two assisted) to go with a team-high 14 digs. Megan Helinski recorded 41 assists (6.83/set) to go with a team-high 11 aces on the day.
Niesha Downs recorded eight aces on the day and was on the serve when AACC made its run to close out against Chesapeake. Downs also had 12 digs on the day.
AACC is back in action on Tuesday, September 20, in a 6 p.m. match at Montgomery College.
