
WYE MILLS, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College women's basketball team fell to host Chesapeake College, 110-38, Wednesday evening. A slow start doomed the Rivherhawks, who were led by 17 points from sophomore Autumn Foster-Fields.
Foster-Fields added nine boards and a pair of assists in the game. A bright spot for AACC (6-4, 0-3) was reserve guard Leah Hernandez, who scored five points to go with a pair of steals and an assist in the game. Sarah Healy recorded 12 rebounds and five steals for the Riverhawks.
Three Chesapeake players scored 20 or more points, with a pair of players with double-doubles.
The Skipjacks (7-2, 3-0) led by 30 at halftime, and started the third quarter on an 8-0 run before Hernandez swished a three-pointer.
Chesapeake used a quick transition game and 45 defensive rebounds to record 36 fast break points in the game.
Anne Arundel will look to snap a three-game skid in a 12 pm home game against Butler County Community College Sunday.
