Cougars Wrap Up Season with Hard-Fought Effort Against Chesapeake
Frederick Community College Cougars women's basketball closed out their season with a tough 77-50 loss to Chesapeake College at home. Despite a strong first half where the Cougars kept pace with the Skipjacks, a challenging third quarter saw them struggle to keep the momentum as Chesapeake pulled away.
Heaven Murray led the charge for Frederick with 16 points, including two three-pointers, while adding five rebounds and four assists. Sabriya Tobing provided a strong presence off the bench, scoring a career-high 12 points and grabbing five rebounds. Bre Lawyer contributed nine points and seven rebounds, battling on both ends of the court. The Cougars worked hard on the glass, securing 38 total rebounds, but their struggles from the field, shooting just 26.4%, made it difficult to keep up with Chesapeake's balanced attack.
With the loss, Frederick finishes the season at 4-15 overall and 0-9 in Region 20 DII play, missing out on the postseason.
