Chesapeake Defeats Dundalk 90-67

WYE MILLS, MD – On the first crisp December afternoon of the 2021 season, the Chesapeake College men's basketball team ultimately upset the CCBC Dundalk Lions with a final result of 90-67.

To no surprise, #11 Mahzi Thames led the way offensively for the Skipjack's, producing a powerful 17 points, as well as earning 6 assists for the home team. Thames was followed closely behind by #5 JayShaun Freeman who earned a total of 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. #22 Craig Turner followed suit hitting double-digits himself with a solid 15 points and 2 assists.

At the half, Chesapeake was ahead on the board, leading the Lions 47-34. However, even with a 13 point separation, the Skipjacks were sure to go back into the remainder of the game continuing to prioritize playing smart and securing their lead with the second half still to go.

#2 Jabraun Shingler showed up as a powerhouse player for the Skipjacks this evening, earning a commendable 12 points and 10 rebounds, as well as 3 assists and 2 steals to add to the books.

Skipjack Arena will be back in action for another evening of men's basketball on Friday, December 3rd for a 7 pm game against CCBC Catonsville.
