Southern Maryland Showdown

The Skipjacks Women's volleyball team stepped onto their home court on September 30^th, 2021 for a 6 PM match time versus the College of Southern Maryland.

Despite an ultimate loss for Chesapeake (0-3), the electricity that radiated throughout the entirety of Skipjack Arena from initiation of the game, to the moment that final whistle officially alerted, was all seriously something to be a part of. Inside of the event, you could physically feel the vibrations from the stomping and shouting from the fans and teammates in show of support as the women played their hearts out on the court.

Tensions were heightened throughout the entirety of the final match as the two teams each gave it absolutely everything they had from start to finish as the scoreboard creeped closer to 25. The teams alternated back and forth for the battle of holding the lead - at times even tied up. All the while, escalating the energy within the gymnasium atmosphere to levels that were truly unspeakable yet incredible to experience.

Ultimately, the evening of Thursday, September 30, 2021 was truly a time to be alive and be a part of Skipjack Athletics, and the visceral excitement endured within the walls of Skipjack Arena will be tough to match!

The ladies are scheduled to face their next opponent, Howard, on October 11^th at 6 PM. The team is anticipating yet another hard fought game where their hearts will again be left on the court when that whistle sounds. The Skipjack's will use the upcoming week to rest, recoup, and recover as they prepare mentally and physically for their next opportunity to show up on the court.
