Chesapeake Women's Basketball Defeat BCCC

In a dominant victory, Chesapeake College defeated Baltimore City Community College with a final score of 94-28. The game showcased an impressive team performance and standout individual contributions.

Chesapeake's offense was fueled by balanced scoring and aggressive play. Gabrielle Corbin (Salisbury, MD/ Wicomico) led the way with an outstanding 17 points, adding 11 rebounds, 6 assist and 2 steals. Lourden Banks (Accokeek, MD/ St. Mary's Ryken) contributed significantly tallying 14 points along with 12 rebounds and 8 steals. Arianna Woodside (Deerfield Beach, FL/ Northeast) also displayed exceptional performance, scoring 17 points on an 8-for-11 shooting, and adding 6 rebounds to the team's total. Shenell White (Deltona, FL/ Deltona) made a significant impact to the Skipjacks performance, scoring 9 points, keeping the energy high.

Other outstanding performances from Ty'Aishah Moody (Easton, MD/ Easton), Zakiyah Zimmerman (Brooklyn, NY/ East NY Family), and Shakaiya Dutton (Willingboro, NJ/ Willingboro) each solidified the teams dominant gameplay. Ty'Aishah Moody and Zakiyah Zimmerman each contributed 11 points and 3 and 6 steals respectively. Shakaiya Dutton had a personal game high of 10 rebounds and added 6 more steals to disrupt Baltimore's offense.

Defensively, the Skipjacks dominated the boards with a total of 62 rebounds, including 36 offensive and 26 defensive rebounds. Despite Baltimore's efforts, Chesapeake's strong shooting percentage (40.6% from the field) and defensive control led the team to secure their dominant win.

Chesapeake faces Howard Community College at home on Friday, December 5th at 5pm.
